Peloton Bike Fit Calculator

Get a starting saddle height and handlebar reach for a Peloton Bike or Bike+, in centimeters — the same units printed on the bike's own seat-post and stem markings — from your height and inseam.

Methodology

Saddle height uses the LeMond method (Greg LeMond, 1987): saddle height = inseam × 0.883, measured from the center of the pedal at the bottom of the stroke to the top of the saddle. Handlebar reach is estimated from standing height × 0.42. Peloton's seat post and handlebar stem are marked directly in centimeters, so these numbers map straight onto the bike's own scale — no notch-to-cm conversion needed, unlike bikes with proprietary numbered dials. This is the same general formula used across indoor bikes; Peloton has no published brand-specific fit data, so treat it as a fast starting point rather than a Peloton-verified spec, and confirm on the actual bike with the standard checks: full leg extension with a slight knee bend at the bottom of the pedal stroke, and the front of your kneecap tracking over the pedal axle when the crank is horizontal (3 o'clock).

FAQ

What saddle height should I use on a Peloton Bike?

Multiply your inseam (floor to crotch, no shoes, in cm) by 0.883 — the LeMond method — for the distance from the center of the pedal at the bottom of the stroke to the top of the saddle. An 80 cm inseam gives roughly 70.6 cm. Peloton's seat post is marked directly in cm, so you can set it against that number and fine-tune from there: a slight knee bend at the bottom of the stroke, no hip rocking.

How do I set up a Peloton Bike or Bike+ for my height?

Start with saddle height from the LeMond formula (inseam × 0.883) and set the seat post to that cm mark. Then adjust fore/aft so the front of your kneecap sits directly over the pedal axle when the crank is horizontal (3 o'clock). Set the handlebar stem level with or slightly above the saddle for a comfortable, sustainable position.

What handlebar reach should I use on a Peloton?

A reasonable starting estimate is your height × 0.42, measured from the saddle nose to the center of the handlebars — Peloton's stem is marked in cm, so this maps directly. Adjust from there based on comfort; indoor rides are long steady seated blocks, so a slightly shorter reach that keeps your back more open is usually more sustainable than an aggressive road-bike reach.

Is this an official Peloton fit tool?

No — Peloton doesn't publish its own fit formula. This uses the same published cycling fit methodology (LeMond method for saddle height, a proportional estimate for reach) used across indoor bikes generally, applied to Peloton's cm-marked adjustment points. It's a solid starting point, not an official Peloton specification.

How accurate is this calculator?

The saddle-height formula (LeMond method) is well-established and typically accurate to within a couple of centimeters for most body types. The handlebar-reach estimate is a simpler proportional approximation. Both benefit from on-bike verification — check knee bend at the bottom of the stroke and kneecap-over-pedal at 3 o'clock once you're set up.

Results are estimates based on published cycling fit formulas (LeMond method) and standard indoor-cycling proportions, not a Peloton-specific calibration. Use as a starting point, then fine-tune on the bike itself. Not medical or physical-therapy advice.
