HYROX returns to Guadalajara in 2027

HYROX Guadalajara 2026 was held on February 7-8 at Expo Guadalajara and marked a milestone: it was the first HYROX race ever staged in Mexico, and one of the first to cement the format's expansion into Latin America. A 2027 edition is likely to keep continuity (same venue, a similar February window), but the official confirmation won't arrive until mid-to-late 2026.

This page exists to capture what we can reasonably anticipate — probable dates, expected venue, how to prepare with the better part of a year ahead — and to email you when HYROX publishes the official confirmation. In the meantime, the 2026 HYROX Latin America calendar is still live with stops in Cancun, Monterrey and Buenos Aires if you want a race before the next date in Guadalajara.

What to expect from the 2027 edition

Three patterns hold steady across the HYROX calendar and help us anticipate what's coming for Guadalajara 2027:

• Same venue. Expo Guadalajara is the reference convention centre in western Mexico: enough column-free floor space, direct access off Avenida Mariano Otero, ample parking and full climate control. Moving venue without a reason would be the exception, not the rule.
• Similar date window. February is excellent for Guadalajara: dry season, 12-24 °C, clear skies. HYROX could shift the date by a few days, but an early-February slot is the most likely because it fits the Latin America calendar and avoids clashing with the European March-April block.
• More slots and consolidation. The 2026 edition, being the first in Mexico, opened with a conservative cap. For 2027 expect expanded capacity — especially in Doubles and Relay — and possibly additional Pro categories as Mexico's HYROX athlete base grows.

How HYROX Guadalajara 2026 went: quick recap

February 7-8, Expo Guadalajara. Two days of racing, with Saturday opening for Singles and Sunday given over to Doubles and Relay. Strong turnout from Mexico City, Monterrey, Querétaro and an international contingent that jumped at the chance to run the first Mexican HYROX. February's weather (dry season, highs around 24 °C and overnight lows near 12 °C) held up well for both athletes and transition logistics.

How to prepare with ~7 months to go

If Guadalajara 2027 is your target and you haven't done a HYROX yet, the months between now and a likely February 2027 race are enough to arrive strong. A general plan in three phases, assuming an early-February 2027 race day:

• Phase 1 — Base (now → ~4 months out): Aerobic base plus technique on the 8 stations. Continuous running at a conversational pace three times a week, and one weekly session drilling sled push, sled pull, burpee broad jump and wall balls at a local box.
• Phase 2 — Specificity (~4 → ~2 months out): Make transitions your key weekly session (run 1 km + station + run 1 km). If you can travel, a HYROX race in Cancun, Monterrey or Buenos Aires works as real-world race practice.
• Phase 3 — Peak & taper (final ~6 weeks): Blocks of partial simulation (4 stations + running) under race-like conditions, a maximum of two HYROX-specific sessions a week, then cut volume 40-50% in the final two weeks. Fitness is built in the months before — this stretch only sharpens it.

Mexico's HYROX scene in the in-between year

Mexico has built an active HYROX scene fast since the first Guadalajara edition in 2026. In the city itself, several CrossFit boxes around Providencia, Chapalita and Zapopan have added sled, wall balls and rowing to weekly programming. Mexico City and Monterrey have even larger communities thanks to population density and the number of specialist gyms.

For base running, Bosque Los Colomos (an urban park with a 5 km loop) and the Parque Metropolitano de Guadalajara are the strongest options for long runs. For strength-endurance, the hills on the east side of the city and gym treadmills cover the specific work. Guadalajara's moderate altitude (1,566 m) adds a training stimulus that helps when you race at sea level and doesn't penalise you racing in the city itself.
