HYROX Dublin 2026
Dublin is the only HYROX race on the island of Ireland. It draws athletes from every county, plus visitors from the UK and Europe who combine racing with a trip to Dublin. The Irish fitness community has taken to the event quickly.
The RDS in Ballsbridge has a long history of hosting major events -- from the Dublin Horse Show to concerts and exhibitions. The halls have enough room for the full course, warm-up areas, and spectator zones. With a November date, athletes get the entire season to prepare, and the event has become the high point of the Irish HYROX calendar.

Getting There
By Air
- Dublin Airport (DUB) is 30-45 minutes from the city centre by Aircoach (route 700) or Dublin Express. A taxi to the RDS costs roughly €30-40. No direct rail link from the airport
- Dublin Airport has direct flights from London (multiple airports, 1h15), Manchester (1h), Glasgow (1h), Birmingham (1h), and all major European hubs
By Train
- DART (Lansdowne Road) is the closest station -- 2 minutes' walk from the RDS entrance. DART from Dublin city centre (Connolly, Tara Street, Pearse) takes under 10 minutes
- DART (Sandymount) is an alternative, 5 minutes' walk to the RDS
- Irish Rail intercity services from Cork (2h45), Galway (2h30), Belfast (2h), Limerick (2h30), and Waterford arrive at Heuston or Connolly. Connect to DART from Connolly or Tara Street
- Use a Leap card for discounted fares on DART and Dublin Bus
By Public Transport
- DART is the best option. Lansdowne Road station is adjacent to the RDS, with services every 5-15 minutes from the city centre
- Dublin Bus routes 4, 7, 7A, and 18 serve Ballsbridge. Bus stops on Merrion Road and Pembroke Road are close to the venue
- Luas (tram) -- the Green Line runs to St Stephen's Green, from where you can walk (20 min) or take a bus to Ballsbridge
By Car
- M50 / N11: From the M50 ring road, take the N11 (Stillorgan Road) north towards the city centre. Exit for Ballsbridge / Merrion Road
- Parking: The RDS has on-site parking but it is limited during large events. Arrive early or pre-book if available
- Alternative parking: Sandymount, Donnybrook, or city centre car parks with DART access
- DART is strongly recommended. Parking in Ballsbridge is limited and surrounding streets have resident permit restrictions
By Ferry
- Dublin Port -- Irish Ferries and Stena Line from Holyhead (Wales, 3h15 fast ferry). 20 minutes from the RDS by taxi or bus
- Dun Laoghaire -- Stena Line from Holyhead (some services). DART to Lansdowne Road takes 15 minutes
- Rosslare has ferries from Fishguard and Pembroke (Wales), about a 2-hour drive to Dublin
Where to Stay
Dublin has accommodation for all budgets, though hotel prices in the city can be higher than other UK and Irish cities. Booking early secures better rates.
- Ballsbridge -- closest to the RDS. InterContinental Dublin, Clayton Hotel Ballsbridge, and Sandymount Hotel are all within walking distance. Premium but convenient
- City Centre (Temple Bar / Grafton Street) has the widest selection. 20-minute DART ride to the RDS. Options include Generator Dublin, Staycity Aparthotels, Premier Inn Dublin, and boutique hotels on Harcourt Street
- Grand Canal Dock is a modern waterfront area with hotels like the Spencer and Maldron, a short DART ride to Lansdowne Road
- Dun Laoghaire, a seaside suburb south of Dublin, has affordable options and a 15-minute DART ride to the RDS. Good for a quieter stay
Tip: Dublin hotels fill up for big events and weekends. Book as early as possible after securing your race entry. Ballsbridge hotels are the most convenient but the DART makes the city centre equally viable.
