HYROX Buenos Aires 2026

Buenos Aires brings HYROX to Argentina with a single-day event on June 13, 2026. It is the first confirmed HYROX race in the country, marking a significant expansion into South America alongside the established Brazilian events in Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro. June is early winter in Buenos Aires, meaning mild temperatures around 10-16 degrees Celsius — excellent conditions for indoor racing.

For international athletes, Buenos Aires is one of South America's most accessible and rewarding cities. Often described as the most European-feeling city on the continent, it combines world-class dining, a passionate sports culture and affordable prices compared to most European or North American race destinations.

Date & Venue

Buenos Aires has several venues large enough to host a full HYROX course. La Rural in Palermo and Costa Salguero near the waterfront are the most likely candidates, both with excellent public transport connections. Expected Ticket Prices

Prices for HYROX Buenos Aires have not yet been published. Argentine pricing typically reflects local purchasing power and may differ from European or North American events. Prices will be listed in ARS on hyrox.com. Early Bird tickets offer the best value and tend to sell quickly. Book through hyrox.com as soon as registration opens.

Getting There

By Air

• Ezeiza International Airport (EZE) — Buenos Aires' main international airport, about 35 km southwest of the city centre. Bus services (Tienda Leon) and taxis take 45-60 minutes depending on traffic
• Aeroparque Jorge Newbery (AEP) — the domestic and regional airport, located in Palermo just 8 km from downtown. Handles flights from Brazilian cities, Uruguay and domestic routes. Much more convenient than EZE for regional travellers
• EZE receives direct flights from Europe (Madrid, Rome, London, Paris), North America (Miami, New York, Houston) and across South America
• Pre-arranged transfers or official taxi stands at EZE are recommended over unlicensed taxis

By Public Transport

• Subte (metro) — six lines (A-H, excluding F and G) cover central Buenos Aires. The network is affordable and efficient for getting between major neighbourhoods
• Metrobus — dedicated bus lanes on major avenues (9 de Julio, Juan B. Justo) provide fast surface transport
• Colectivos (city buses) — an extensive bus network reaching every neighbourhood. Pay with a SUBE card (rechargeable transport card), which also works on the Subte
• Get a SUBE card at any kiosco (corner shop) or Subte station — it is essential for all public transport

By Train

• Retiro station is the main terminus for suburban and intercity rail services in the north of the city
• Long-distance rail services in Argentina are limited compared to Europe, but suburban trains connect Retiro to northern suburbs and Tigre
• For travel from Montevideo (Uruguay), the Buquebus ferry from Colonia del Sacramento connects to Buenos Aires by boat

By Car

• Driving in Buenos Aires is not recommended for visitors. Traffic is heavy, parking is limited, and the public transport network covers the city well
• If driving from outside the city, motorways (autopistas) connect Buenos Aires with other major cities, but be aware of toll costs and congestion approaching the centre

Where to Stay

Until the venue is confirmed, central Buenos Aires offers excellent options within easy reach of most potential event locations.

• Palermo (Soho and Hollywood) — the most popular neighbourhood for visitors. Excellent restaurants, bars and parks. Close to La Rural (a likely venue) and well connected by Subte lines D and B
• Recoleta — upmarket neighbourhood with wide avenues, parks and premium hotels. Walking distance to Palermo and well served by buses
• San Telmo — historic neighbourhood south of the centre. Bohemian atmosphere, excellent food, and more affordable than Palermo or Recoleta. Connected by Subte line C and E
• Microcentro / San Nicolás — the business district around the Obelisco. Maximum transport connectivity but less atmospheric than residential neighbourhoods
• Budget travellers will find hostels and guesthouses across San Telmo, La Boca and Montserrat at prices well below European equivalents

Tip: Buenos Aires is an affordable city for international visitors. Hotel prices are reasonable by global standards, and the restaurant scene rivals any European capital at a fraction of the cost. Book accommodation once the venue is confirmed to choose the right neighbourhood.

Training in Buenos Aires

Buenos Aires has a strong fitness culture. The city's parks and running circuits are well maintained, and CrossFit has a solid following across the metropolitan area. Finding functional training equipment for HYROX preparation is straightforward.

• CrossFit Buenos Aires — one of the city's established boxes with functional equipment including rowers and ski ergs
• CrossFit Palermo — centrally located in the Palermo neighbourhood, convenient for visitors staying in the area
• Several functional training studios across Palermo, Belgrano and Recoleta offer drop-in classes with relevant equipment
• Standard commercial gyms (Megatlon, SportClub) have cardio equipment but may not have sled tracks in a HYROX-specific setup

Running Routes

• Bosques de Palermo (Palermo parks) — the city's main green space with a 3.5 km loop around the Rosedal and Lago de Regatas. Flat paths, shaded sections and a strong running community especially on weekend mornings
• Costanera Sur (Ecological Reserve) — a nature reserve on the waterfront near Puerto Madero. Flat, traffic-free paths extending roughly 5 km along the Rio de la Plata
• Parque 3 de Febrero — wide paths through parkland, connected to the Bosques de Palermo circuit. Good for longer runs of 8-15 km
• Costanera Norte — the northern waterfront promenade from Aeroparque toward Nuñez. Flat and exposed to wind from the river, useful for longer steady-state runs
• Running clubs are active across Buenos Aires — joining a grupo de running for a session is easy and free at most

• Sao Paulo: October 17, 2026 (approximately 1,700 km north, about 2.5 hours by flight)
• Rio de Janeiro: November 21, 2026 (approximately 2,000 km north, about 2.5 hours by flight)
• Athletes from Uruguay can reach Buenos Aires by Buquebus ferry from Montevideo (roughly 3 hours including the crossing to Colonia del Sacramento and onward bus)

Race Day Tips

• Arrive at least 90 minutes before your wave start. Registration queues and bag drop take time, especially at single-day events where all athletes race on the same day
• Collect your race bib and timing chip at the registration desk. Bring a printed or digital copy of your confirmation and a valid ID
• June is early winter in Buenos Aires — expect temperatures around 10-16 degrees Celsius. The indoor venue will be climate-controlled, but dress warmly for the journey there and for warming up
• Bring your own nutrition. Gels, bars and drinks may be available at HYROX vendors, but availability at newer South American events may differ from established European races
• Spectators: Argentine sports fans are passionate and loud. Expect a strong atmosphere from local supporters
• The Argentine peso fluctuates — bring a mix of payment options. International credit cards work in most places, and cash (ARS) is useful for transport and smaller purchases
• Post-race: Buenos Aires steak is world-famous. Treat yourself to a parrilla in Palermo or San Telmo after racing
