Quick answers
Will they make me faster?
Only if your set has a pace or interval target to hit. No independent test here shows a general speed gain.
Which pair for pool intervals?
FORM Smart Swim 2 LT at $149: live pace, distance and time in the lens, no required subscription, FIT/CSV export.
Do I need a subscription?
No. FORM Premium ($119/year) is optional coaching. HoloSwim needs none, and the Speedo app is free.
Will swims sync to Garmin Connect?
Not automatically from FORM. Export FIT or CSV instead. HoloSport advertises Garmin sharing on the 3 Pro, unverified here.
Live data helps when a swim set gives you a target to act on. Pace, distance and rest time in the lens can tell you whether your third 100 matches your first. If the session has no pace or interval target, those numbers have less work to do.
This is a source-led comparison. Neither Thomas Prommer nor this site tested these goggles in the water. The observations below belong to the named reviewers. Prices are US snapshots from October 3, 2026 and can change.

What do pool swimmers gain from a display?
FORM’s Smart Swim 2 LT displays pace, distance and time while you swim. Its core pool tracking and post-swim review remain available without Premium. The manufacturer listed it at $149, alongside the Smart Swim 2 at $199 and the 2 PRO at $259 when this article was researched.
Jon Dorn tested the LT in pool and open-water sessions for Triathlete. He found the live pacing useful and identified an uneven breathing pattern using the paid HeadCoach feature. He also reported some fogging and a narrower peripheral view. His improvement is a result from one swimmer, not a predicted gain for every buyer.
In a different head-to-head pool test, amateur triathlete and writer India Paine used the FORM 2 PRO and Speedo iQ Vanquisher 3.0 for several weeks. She valued FORM’s live feedback but described the view as bulky and tunnel-like. Both pairs sealed for her. That is how they fit Paine. Your own face may seal differently.
Is the cheapest FORM model missing the useful part?
The LT keeps the live display and pool metrics. It drops built-in heart rate. The Smart Swim 2 and 2 PRO include heart rate; the PRO adds Gorilla Glass lenses and renewable anti-fog treatment. All three use the same contoured, replaceable eye seals in FORM’s model comparison. For an athlete who already records heart rate with a watch and mainly wants live pool splits, the LT is the more economical place to start.
FORM’s Premium plan adds HeadCoach, guided workouts, training plans and the workout builder. It costs $119 per year or $15 per month after the introductory month. FORM says setup requires a credit card for that month. The display and basic swim history continue without a paid plan. Decide whether you will use the coaching features before counting a subscription as part of the purchase price.
Are HoloSwim and Speedo better fits for the same workout?
HoloSport listed the HoloSwim 2 Pro at $149 and 3 Pro at $249, and says neither requires a subscription. Both offer a display. The 3 Pro adds built-in GPS and compass functions that matter more in open water than in a lap pool. Independent pool testing is thinner than for the FORM line. One HoloSwim 2 Pro owner liked the distance tracking but reported repeated leaks. A single account is a reason to test the fit yourself, not a basis for judging defect rates. A firsthand 3 Pro review examined open-water GPS, so it cannot settle pool lap accuracy.
The Speedo iQ Vanquisher 3.0 is a different choice. It records pool data for review after the swim and has no in-lens display. Paine found it slimmer, with a wider field of view than FORM. It was listed at $189 in September 2026 and its app was free. It costs more than the FORM LT at these snapshots, so its case rests on fit and a clear view, not price.
Where does the data go after the swim?
FORM lets you export an individual swim or all past swims as FIT or CSV. Its support page says HeadCoach scores are excluded. A compatible Garmin watch can supply open-water GPS data to the goggles, but FORM says its sessions do not export automatically to Garmin Connect. HoloSport advertises Garmin sharing for the 3 Pro, but the exact export format and transfer direction need confirmation before treating it as equivalent to a FIT file you control.
For targeted pool intervals, the FORM LT has the clearest evidence-backed value at $149: live metrics without a required recurring fee, plus documented data export. Choose the 2 or PRO for their specific hardware additions. Consider HoloSwim if its fit and subscription-free training tools matter more to you, and test the seal while the return window is open. Choose Speedo if a low-profile goggle and post-swim analysis suit your routine.

Frequently Asked Questions
Will live pace make me faster?
It can help you hold a target during a structured set. The reviewed swimmers reported useful feedback, but no independent comparison here proves a general speed gain.
Do FORM goggles require a subscription?

Can FORM swims sync to Garmin Connect?
