HYROX Lisbon 2026
Lisbon has pulled in a large expat and digital nomad population over the past decade. The city is cheaper than most western European capitals, gets sun almost year-round, and has a solid fitness community. English is widely spoken in the city centre and in the neighbourhoods where internationals tend to cluster.
This is HYROX's first event in Portugal. FIL in Parque das Nacoes is a modern exhibition centre on the Tagus River waterfront, well connected by metro and easy to reach from the airport. If you are flying in for the race, Lisbon also works well as a short city break.

Training in Lisbon
Lisbon now has a good spread of CrossFit boxes and functional training studios, driven partly by the growing expat population. The mild climate lets you train outdoors most of the year. The hills are genuinely useful for HYROX prep -- you will get leg strength just from walking around the city.
Running Routes
- Belem waterfront -- flat path from Cais do Sodre to the Tower of Belem and beyond (6-10 km) along the Tagus
- Monsanto Forest Park -- trails through eucalyptus and pine, rolling terrain, good for longer runs
- The Parque das Nacoes promenade is flat and right next to FIL -- useful for a pre-race shakeout
- Eduardo VII Park has a steep hill climb in the city centre, works well for intervals
- Sintra trails -- 40 minutes by train, hilly trail running with palace views if you want a change of pace
