HYROX Amsterdam 2026

Amsterdam is one of the easier European HYROX races for international visitors. English is spoken everywhere, the airport is 10 minutes from the venue by train, and the city is compact enough to navigate on foot or by tram.

RAI Amsterdam sits in the southern business district with its own train station and tram stops. The large expat community means the field skews international -- expect athletes from the Netherlands, Belgium, the UK and Germany.

  • Eindhoven Airport (EIN) is a budget alternative, about 90 minutes away by bus and train

By Train/Transit

  • Amsterdam Zuid -- nearest mainline station, 5-minute walk to RAI
  • Amsterdam Centraal -- 15 minutes by metro (line 52) to Europaplein station

  • RAI has its own parking garage (Europaplein P1), around 30-40 EUR per day

  • Amsterdam hotels fill up fast, especially on event weekends. Reserve 4-6 weeks ahead

Training in Amsterdam

Amsterdam has a solid functional fitness community with CrossFit boxes and training studios that run HYROX-specific classes. The terrain is flat and the parks are plentiful, so running prep is straightforward.

Running Routes

  • Vondelpark -- the most popular park for runners, a flat 3.3 km loop in the city centre
  • Amstel River path -- heads south along the river towards Ouderkerk, 10-20 km out-and-back
  • Amsterdamse Bos is a large forest park south of the city with varied trails, good for longer runs
  • Beatrixpark is a small park right next to RAI, useful for a pre-race shakeout
  • Flevopark and Oosterpark on the east side offer a change of scenery
