HYROX World Championship Overview
The HYROX World Championship is the pinnacle of the HYROX season—where the top 0.5% of athletes worldwide compete for the title of World Champion. The 2026 edition takes place June 18-21 at Strawberry Arena in Stockholm, Sweden.
With over 1,000,000 HYROX athletes racing globally in the 2025/26 season, qualifying for Worlds is a significant achievement. This guide explains exactly how to earn your spot.
Qualification Paths
1. Pro Division Race Qualification (Primary Path)
The main way to qualify: race in the Pro Division at any global HYROX event and finish in the top places for your age group.
- Available at any HYROX race with Pro Division
- Heavier weights than Open Division
- Age group placements determine qualification
- Number of slots announced 3 days before each race
2. Regional Championship Qualification
Regional Championships (EMEA, Americas, APAC) don't have Pro Divisions, so qualification is available through Open Division at these events:
| Championship | Location | Date |
|---|---|---|
| EMEA Championship | London, UK | March 20-22, 2026 |
| Americas Championship | Washington DC, USA | March 7, 2026 |
| APAC Championship | Brisbane, Australia | April 9-12, 2026 |
3. 60+ Age Group Exception
Athletes in 60+ age categories continue to qualify through Open Division at any race, as they race with Open weights at World Championships.
4. Elite 15 Invitation (Professional Athletes)
The Elite 15 category is by invitation only for professional-level competitors:
- Major podiums: 1st, 2nd, and 3rd at each 2025/26 Major race qualify
- Regional Champions: 1st place at each Regional Championship qualifies
- Spots roll down if an athlete has already qualified
- Always 15 athletes in Elite 15 Singles (Men and Women)
Pro Division Weights
To qualify through Pro Division, you race with heavier weights than Open:
| Station | Pro Men | Pro Women |
|---|---|---|
| Sled Push/Pull | 202kg | 152kg |
| Farmers Carry | 2 x 32kg | 2 x 24kg |
| Sandbag Lunges | 30kg | 20kg |
| Wall Ball | 9kg / 3.0m | 6kg / 2.7m |
Age Groups
Qualification slots are allocated within age groups:
- 16-24
- 25-29
- 30-34
- 35-39
- 40-44
- 45-49
- 50-54
- 55-59
- 60-64

You compete against athletes in your age group. A 45-year-old doesn't need to beat a 25-year-old to qualify—only other 45-49 athletes in the Pro Division.
